Robinsons Requisite Classic 600 Combo Turnout Rug

Requisite Classic 600 Combo Turnout Rug

Market price:

£49.99 - € 60.70

  • 600 denier full neck turnout.
  •  Nylon lining.
  • 220gm filling.
  • Cross surcingles & Twin chest straps.

A well made rug, A little short on the belly for my preference.
The velcro neck straps had no cover so the mud got in and the straps become undone.

It didn't come with leg straps which was a let down, Can't remember if it had D-rings for leg straps or not.. just a filet string which didn't serve much purpose because holes were too high up. The fill felt cheap like it would clumps up in time.

Apart from the short belly, The rug was a good fit and didn't rub or put too much pressure on my horses high withers. The shoulder darts could of been placed higher for more freedom of movement.

If you're looking for a colorful rug on a budget and don't mind the neck straps or fill,
I'd recommend this rug.  I'd give it 7/10 stars.

NAF off extra effect fly gel Review.

NAF OFF EXTRA EFFECT FLY GEL

Tired of buying fly repellents that don't work?

This is the one you've been looking for.. A fly gel that really repels!

It lasts for around 3 hours and once dried in it's easily wiped/brushed off without leaving a trace on your horses coat. The gel pots are 750ml

It also comes in liquid spray bottles.

Weatherbeeta Airflow Full Neck Fly Rug Review.

Weatherbeeta Airflow Full Neck Fly Rug.

€69.99 on Equestrian.com
Good Points: Lets in the air not clammy at all. Blocks 65% of sun rays. Large freestyle tail flap. Large airy neck cover. Nylon lining along the mane, chest and tail flap. Soft yet durable materiel. High gussets. Doesn't restrict movement.

Negatives: Belly flap not as large as it could be, The elastic straps on the belly stretch. Back leg straps really long. Rug slips a little.

This rug is still a little tight on my horses withers but not as much as other brands. It does tend to slip back a little. It keeps midges off but obviously they still get underneath (arm pits & man bits).

It takes them longer but, Mosquito's can still bite through the rug too.

It's better than no protection. Personally I wouldn't leave it on my horse all day/night without being there encase it slips.

-------------------------------------------------------------

I don't cross over the back leg straps as it restricts his tail from swishing midges away from his bits. The straps are large even if you did cross them.

Good rug if you want something that'll last.

I'd give it 7/10 stars.

Equestrian Fly Bonnet With Fringe Review.

Fly Net Bonnet With Fringe from equestrian.com

Link to their site

Price: €7.99

If your looking for a ear cover without having the bulk of a full face mask this is a good one to to for.

It has fleece lining on the front and back to prevent rubbing, big ears and velcro strap. The plastic loop to thread the velcro through is flimsy and pulled off so I had to glue it back on.

It does the job and i'd recommend this fly bonnet if you don't mind repairing/reinforcing it.

I give it 4/5 stars.

Shires Fly Mask Review.

Shires Mesh Mask with Ears and Nose Extension.

After nose veil cut off.

Market price of £15.99 - €19.50

I bought this a couple of years back, it was completely ripped within four hours or wear! The mesh detached from the bonnet and completely ripped. The eye space wasn't 'darted' enough and the darts were placed way too high up! So it rubbed on my horses brow. My horses hair digged into the mesh on the nose veil irritating him. I cut off the veil because of this.
Definitely wouldn't recommend this oddly shaped mask!

I'd give it 0.5 / 5 stars.

Weatherbeeta Original Combo Review

Weatherbeeta Original Combo Medium Fill.

I looked all over the web to find this rug in this style, Found the style and bought from RideAway.co.uk,

Personally i don't rate their site very poor communication with

them had no idea if my rug had been dispatched or when it was going to be.
I payed £80 for the rug it has now been reduced to £60.

Right onto the rug! Was SO excited when it finally arrived so bright, Great quality, Even has a little i.d patch inside the rug to write you and your horses identity and address.

It has removable elasticated leg straps. Long tail flap which is good if your horse has his bum directly to the wind as it tends to blow up now and then.

I like the chest closure, its wide, deep with velcro and doesn't burst open like my other rug. The weatherbeeta logo is hi-viz. The neck cover also fixes with velcro with a cover so mud can't block it up.

All Muddy!

The neck cover is roomy, Not too long not too short. I have the medium weight rug with 220g of fill. Love the deepness of weatherbeeta's keeps my horse nice and snug in the baddest of weather. The rug does pull on my horses withers but not too harshly.
Even with mud caked on it, the rug is still bold and bright.

Love how unique it is and I definitely recommend this rug!

I 'd rate it 9/10 stars.

Jodhpur Reviews

Sherwood Forest Bramble Jodhpurs.

I had read a lot of review of these jodhpurs as coming up small so bought the size up and glad i did.

They are a comfy fit and really make you feel good while being practical jodpurs but you do have to keep pulling them back up every now and then.

I bought the brown, I wanted the black with blue trim but they had non in stock at the time at Robinsons Equestrian. I'm 6ft1 and yes they are a little short but not terribly.

After two or three wears they ripped on the  stitching on the top of the right bum pocket which was embarrassing as i had the vet out that day and didn't realize till the end of the day! I've recently sewn them back together and hopefully my stitching will hold! They were originally €35.94 but have been reduced on many sites for the quality and sizing reasons.

I 'd give them 6/10 stars.

Sherwood Forest Ekka Jodhpurs.

These were my first ever pair of sherwood jods, I had two pairs, Between each over they lasted me three years with the occasional repair stitching on the crotch. After a while they get stiff with being in the washing-machine a lot.

I still have one pair but I've lost weight so they are too big for me now so they're my winter jods as they are thicker. They are REALLY half-mast for a 6ft1 girl.

I'm not sure if they are still on the market but I would definitely recommend these if your looking for sturdy jodhpurs that last.

I 'd give them 8/10 stars.

Sherwood Forest Two-Tone Yield Jodhpurs.

These are really comfy  and stretchy jods, not too short really bright and daring. I've only wore them a couple of times they have clicked between the thighs and expect i'll have to stitch the crotch soon as its already wore thin with walking. They suit both summer and winter riding.

I 'd give them 8/10 stars.

Decathlon, Fouganza Schooling Jodhpurs

They were only €14.95 when i bought them,
Now €19.95 in store and online.

Had these for nearly three years now. The fabric hasn't wore or became thin. I wear them for riding, mucking out the fields, gardening, and anything horse related as they're comfy to wear, Light in summer but still warm in winter.

They come halfway up my calfs but suppose that's the joys of being 6ft1
! They're stretchy, Find myself having to stop and pull the legs up often as they keep coming down which gets annoying.I would recommend them if you're short or don't mind them being half-mast.

They have 3/5 star rating on decathlon.fr I'd give them 3/5 stars also.
