Weatherbeeta Original Combo Review

Weatherbeeta Original Combo Medium Fill.

I looked all over the web to find this rug in this style, Found the style and bought from RideAway.co.uk,

Personally i don't rate their site very poor communication with

them had no idea if my rug had been dispatched or when it was going to be.
I payed £80 for the rug it has now been reduced to £60.

Right onto the rug! Was SO excited when it finally arrived so bright, Great quality, Even has a little i.d patch inside the rug to write you and your horses identity and address.

It has removable elasticated leg straps. Long tail flap which is good if your horse has his bum directly to the wind as it tends to blow up now and then.

I like the chest closure, its wide, deep with velcro and doesn't burst open like my other rug. The weatherbeeta logo is hi-viz. The neck cover also fixes with velcro with a cover so mud can't block it up.

All Muddy!

The neck cover is roomy, Not too long not too short. I have the medium weight rug with 220g of fill. Love the deepness of weatherbeeta's keeps my horse nice and snug in the baddest of weather. The rug does pull on my horses withers but not too harshly.
Even with mud caked on it, the rug is still bold and bright.

Love how unique it is and I definitely recommend this rug!

I 'd rate it 9/10 stars.

Jodhpur Reviews

Sherwood Forest Bramble Jodhpurs.

I had read a lot of review of these jodhpurs as coming up small so bought the size up and glad i did.

They are a comfy fit and really make you feel good while being practical jodpurs but you do have to keep pulling them back up every now and then.

I bought the brown, I wanted the black with blue trim but they had non in stock at the time at Robinsons Equestrian. I'm 6ft1 and yes they are a little short but not terribly.

After two or three wears they ripped on the  stitching on the top of the right bum pocket which was embarrassing as i had the vet out that day and didn't realize till the end of the day! I've recently sewn them back together and hopefully my stitching will hold! They were originally €35.94 but have been reduced on many sites for the quality and sizing reasons.

I 'd give them 6/10 stars.

Sherwood Forest Ekka Jodhpurs.

These were my first ever pair of sherwood jods, I had two pairs, Between each over they lasted me three years with the occasional repair stitching on the crotch. After a while they get stiff with being in the washing-machine a lot.

I still have one pair but I've lost weight so they are too big for me now so they're my winter jods as they are thicker. They are REALLY half-mast for a 6ft1 girl.

I'm not sure if they are still on the market but I would definitely recommend these if your looking for sturdy jodhpurs that last.

I 'd give them 8/10 stars.

Sherwood Forest Two-Tone Yield Jodhpurs.

These are really comfy  and stretchy jods, not too short really bright and daring. I've only wore them a couple of times they have clicked between the thighs and expect i'll have to stitch the crotch soon as its already wore thin with walking. They suit both summer and winter riding.

I 'd give them 8/10 stars.

Decathlon, Fouganza Schooling Jodhpurs

They were only €14.95 when i bought them,
Now €19.95 in store and online.

Had these for nearly three years now. The fabric hasn't wore or became thin. I wear them for riding, mucking out the fields, gardening, and anything horse related as they're comfy to wear, Light in summer but still warm in winter.

They come halfway up my calfs but suppose that's the joys of being 6ft1
! They're stretchy, Find myself having to stop and pull the legs up often as they keep coming down which gets annoying.I would recommend them if you're short or don't mind them being half-mast.

They have 3/5 star rating on decathlon.fr I'd give them 3/5 stars also.

Roma Neoprene Brushing Boots Review

I bought these brushing boots from www.robinsonsequestrian.com

They cost €21.75 their postage is a fixed rate. That can be quite pricey if your not wanting to order much.

I ordered the boots in 'Royal Blue' They are more of a baby blue lovely and bright! I ordered in a Full size the picture shows three Velcro straps mine arrived with 4.

They are really big boots as you can see on the first picture above. A medium would of fit my horse perfectly.

I've got to admit.. I do get a little puzzled when putting these on, Probably because the Full size is slightly too big on my horse.

The boots come in a choice of lovely colors & do their job, i'd recommend them.

I'd give them 8/10 stars.

Decathlon Fouganza Fly Rug Review.

Okay so I ordered from www.decathlon.fr for the first time.

The fly rug took three days to arrive, The postage cost €6.99, It was goodly packaged.

The rug cost €49.95 or €56.94 in total with postage.

My horse is 162cm or about 16 hands high. He has high withers and large shoulders.
I'll start off with the Negatives about the fly rug!

The first thing i noticed was the clip that attached the neck cover to the rug it was directly on the spine of my horse! Could imagine it causing some damage if he rolled on it! there are three clips in total to attack the neck cover two on the side on the one directly on the spine of the rug.

The belly flap of the rug sags down in the middle, Flies can get in and trapped between your horses belly and the mesh.

The withers! The rug is o.k when your horse is stood normal with it's head up but it pulls and put so much pressure on your horses withers when grazing! For this reason, I am returning to rug.

The rug doesn't close together on the front straps there is a big gap even on the shortest buckle and could potentially come undone.

The velco neck straps could do with having the top one (closest to the head) slightly longer strangled  my horse when he lowered his head.

aaaaaand the positives:
The Mesh feels like it would last, Thickly weaved and good quality.
The rug has elasticated belly straps and leg straps. The neck cover is really long even for my horse who is a bit of a giraffe.

If this rug didn't pull on my horses withers so much i would of kept it but not going to risk it knackering his withers like the rhinegold cotton summer sheet did! If you have a flat-backed horse i'd say then maybe yes it would be alright but definitely not for my horse with his withers.
Hope this blog helps you and you find the right fly rug for your horse. I
'm sadly having to start the hunt for one again before it gets too hot and mosquito mobbed.
